Yes. I have just used Apple's Automator to do just that. It was really simple...I'm not a power user. This is what I used as my guide: https://www.techjunkie.com/automatically-eject-disks-at-boot-in-mac-os-x-with-automator/
It's also very easy to unmount devices using the Disk Utility.
That is unnecessary for normal shutdown
