You can only do that if there are separate SSIDs for the 2.4 GHz and 5GHz band on the router.
In that case only use the SSID for the 2.4GHz band

Thee should not be any problem with the printer bein on 2.4GHz ad you Mac on 5GHz as log as both on same network.
My printer is 2.4 GHz only and y Mac is on 5GHz and I have no problem using the printer (really I only use the scanner portion).
What specific printer do you have?
Many required updated drivers for Monterey.
Have you rest the printing system and tried readding the printer?

So you are using community wireless network, It is likely that network is configured keep each connection private to other users connecting to the network. Like I have a Guest SSID on y router and if I connect to the Guest network, I can't see my printers and other network devices.

Hi lllaas,
Thank you for you reply, but it doesn’t solve my problem,
I live in a residential complex and the router as on one SSID for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz band
so when I log in my MacBook Pro automatically select the 5Ghz band, the problem I get is be my Wi-Fi printer only uses the 2.4Ghz band and when I want to print my computer cannot find it.
when I use my windows pc I have the option to select the band width I want to use.
best regards
Mark
I have tried all the things you suggested it works for the setup able to print test page.
but when I go back to print again you get message printer off line, I know that it not.
The printer is Epson XP 610.
Thank you for all your help with this, I am going to buy a dual band or bluetooth printer, need a new printer anyway.
I know that I could use USB but I don't want cables hanging around.
On my windows machine I can still print.
Thank you for that, I will do what you said and get back to you.
