Is there a way to block incoming calls by Caller ID, area code, or state

I am having an issue with a scammer that calls me every day. Their Caller ID is always the same. It's "US Energy". Every time they call I block the number in both my iphone and carrier call blocking app. However, this scammer simply changes one digit in the number in order to circumvent my blocking them. Having the ability to block them by area code, state, or caller ID would be very helpful.

I have an Iphone 12 Pro Max

Thank you!

No, however, you can use Settings>Phone>Silence Unknown Callers to send all callers not in your contacts or recent outgoing calls directly to voicemail. If they're legitimate, they'll leave a message if they really want to talk to you.

I’ve tried that. Unfortunately since this scammer keeps changing a digit the carrier can’t stop it.

I just found an app in the App Store, called Number Shield that is supposed to allow you to be able to block calls using a place holder #, such as 909-###-####. I just set it up. We’ll see if I get a call from this scammer tomorrow. I only used it on the last four digits so far. Fingers crossed.

Unfortunately the “Unknown” callers seems to only work if the caller ID is blocked, or unknown. It doesn’t seem to mean that the caller is not in your contacts list. Since this scammer does have a caller ID, my phone still rings.

I’ve just installed an app from the App Store that allows me to be able to use a # as a digit placeholder. Ex: 909-676-####, or 909-###-####. If this actually works, this will be exactly what I am looking for. It’s called Number Shield.

Wish me luck!

Given the caller ID is -> US Energy, report to your carrier, they can verify whether US Energy is really that well-known company or not.

And tell them too that this scammer simply changes one digit in the number.

I'm not familiar with Number Shield app and I've had a look in the App Store.

It seems like a good app given the ratings and reviews.

Thank you for your extensive feedback and we will keep our fingers crossed for you.

Unfortunately for me, as an independent Insurance agent, I get a lot of calls from my ads from people obviously who wouldn’t be in my contacts list that are looking for insurance. Some don’t or won’t necessarily leave a message if I don’t answer.

I’ll post here tomorrow to let you know if this number shield works. If it does, it will be exactly what I’m looking for.
