Huge snapshots with no clear reason
Dear all,
it's been about one month since this started: the available free space of my 2016 MBP with macOS 12.2 started to go down dramatically. Normally I have 140Gb out of 500Gb free. It went down to 20Gb, until I shut down, let it rest for a while, and boot up, which brings it back to anything between 120 and 140.
Restarting doesn't help, instead.
Going to Disk utility shows something strange happening yesterday before 10pm:
But look at the private size ... 92MB of data relative to that snapshot occupied ... 22.5GB?!
Why? How? What may be happening?
I've used the GrandPerspective app to check whether I had some mysterious app creating 22GB of waste, but no, it even says that my used disk space is 350GB, which seems correct.
Is this a bug somewhere? What can I do to diagnose this?
If you want to ask what I was doing around that time, I had just finished with my daily workflow, using mainly Avid Sibelius and Adobe InDesign, and connected my TimeMachine disk to perform backups, all of which just completed fine.
Thank you
