Forgot notes password

Here are the steps I took to access my notes from Apple's server.:

• Go to privacy.apple.com
• Choose "Request a copy of your data" under the heading "Get a copy of your data", which takes you to a page where you choose which data you want to download.
• Choose Select All or individually check the data you want.
• Click Continue at the bottom of the page.
• Click the Complete Request button that appears on that page.
• Wait for an email with a link to your data. Probably will take a few days.
• Click the link. The data downloads.
• I can't remember if the original file is zipped, but if it is, you just need to double-click on it and of course, double click on the iCloudNotes.zip file that you'll see in the ensuing folder.
• All your notes will be in separate folders and any images will be in a subfolder named Attachments

I think that's all the steps. It worked for me.

There is no "solution" other than to remember the password you used.

If you can't remember the password, the notes are unreadable. Full stop. There is no magic that can get past that.

I don't think it's true that you can't access notes withut the password. I downloaded all the data in my icloud account and all my notes were there in the download and I didn't need a password to view them.

The only way to access your Notes that were locked is to remember the passcode. Changing the passcode as described above only changes things for new Notes, not the old locked notes. If you cannot remember the old password, you will not be able to access the locked Notes.

If you can't remember the password, the notes encrypted using that password are unreadable.
