i turned sync off and now a ton of MY music is missing!

I would love to be able to sync my music between my phone and my ipad, however, I resent the **** out of Apple downloading music onto my iPad without my permission, and hogging all of MY IPAD'S MEMORY. I BOUGHT THE ****** THING. If they want to download music and force me to listen to stuff I have no interest in whatsoever, then THEY NEED TO GIVE ME AN IPAD PRO FOR FREE. Otherwise, IT IS MY IPAD. I DO NOT WANT APPLE WASTING MY TIME OR MEMORY BY TRESPASSING INTO MY DIGITAL PROPERTY. I am so goddamned sick of this!!!! So, I turned sync off, because apple downloaded 116 Gigs!!! of music onto my ipad, and I couldn't work, because I had no goddamned memory left, and I had already wasted 4 hours of my life deleting artists one by one (yet one more thing apple has forced me to waste MY time on), and went to play music yesterday, only to discover that apple had downloaded all new goddamned music that I DO NOT WANT!!!! And, now I'm missing about ¾ of my muisic library - and that music is MY MUSIC, that I BOUGHT, and for much of it, I own the goddamned cd!! What the ****????? I'm goddamned furious.

Hi there LizzyRed555,

We'd like to help look into what's happening with Music on your iPad.

If you'd like to submit feedback to Apple about the Music app, you can submit yours here: Product Feedback

You mentioned turning off the Sync Library feature, which means it'll stop syncing with whatever it was up to that point. By proxy, your music would go missing as it's not syncing.

Let's now probe a bit more into some possible reasons why your iPad is automatically downloading songs:

  1. While music shouldn't download on its own either way, it would download automatically depending on your Music settings. Do you see the option for Automatic Downloads enabled in the Music settings on your iPad?
  2. If that option isn't enabled, when did this first start to occur?
  3. Do you have an Apple Music subscription, or do you connect your iPad to your computer to sync music to it?

Cheers!
