Do I get free 5 gigs iCloud storage on each of my 3 apple devices?

I’m confused about iCloud storage if we have several pretty new apple devices. Can I get free 5Gigs iCloud storage on each of our 4 apple devices? It seems like they should be separate, versus having same photos and data on all. After all, we paid for each device separately. Expensive endeavor!
