Apple Music “could not connect to the server”

Why do I receive the error message “could not connect to the server” on Apple Music(iPhone 12 mini)? The issue started with iOS 15.3 and continues in iOS 15.3.1. I’ve restarted my phone, WiFi and cellular. Same result. How do I fix it?

Hello jay9904,

We're glad you thought to ask Apple Support Communities about the issue you're having with using Apple Music on your iPhone. You completed some great steps too. Do you use a VPN or security software? If so, temporarily disable or remove those as they can block connections. If the issue resolves with this step, reach out to those app developers to look into this more: How to contact an app developer

If that's not the case, check the date and time settings to make sure those are correct. To do that tap Settings > General > Date & Time. From here, make sure "Set Automatically" is turned on and the "Time Zone" area is correct. If changes are made here, restart your iPhone and try Apple Music again.

If the behavior continues, reset your network settings to see if fresh network connections help. This resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before, so be sure you have the passwords handy. When you're ready, tap Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Keep us posted.

Take care.
