how to know if my computer is fully encrypted under the FileVault?

Go to Apple menu > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > FileVault and see if it states that FileVault is on. If it is on and hasn't yet finished encrypting, it will show that as well.

Note: Turning it on is not an instant process, it could take many hours, will only proceed when on AC power, and can't be interrupted or stopped until the process completes.


Also: It is not on by default, you would have to initiate the process. During the process, a status report is given. But, remember, the initial encryption process only runs on AC power, switching to battery power will pause the process until AC power is restored. Once the process completes, you'll will be encrypted. If you later elect to turn it off, a similar amount of time would required to completely decrypt the drive.
