Frozen screen on iPhone 13

My screen is frozen at a game app ad. If I try to turn the phone off by pressing and holding either volume button and the sleep button down simultaneously, the phone emits a whooping sound until I release the buttons. No power off slider appears. I can answer calls, read text messages, and swipe from the NE corner to the SW corner to get to the quick actions page, but that's about it. No other screen buttons work except turning the flashlight on/off or setting a timer.

How do I resolve this?

Hello there!

That is how you do a “hard reset”. See below:

Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

- Press and quickly release Volume UP button
- Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
- Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).
