Changing trusted phone number

I recently got a new phone after having a few phones where the sim cards wouldnt work. When i got the new phone they gave me a new number and im trying to change it but it keeps asking me to type in my phone password over and over. No matter how many times i type my password it doesnt work. What do i do?
