MacBook Air 13” Keyboard

So I have a MacBook Air 13” and the space key has decided to stop working, I’ve pulled the cap off to check for damage or dust etc underneath the key but there’s no visible signs of anything - all other keys work fine & I have tested them with a key board tester. The space key will work when I plug in a 3rd party wired keyboard, so I’m guessing there’s something wrong with the one on the actual MacBook. Is this something that can be fixed via system settings? Or do I need to replace the entire key board?

You can click the center part of the key where the micro switch is located (usually has the silicone cup which presses onto the hidden key switch beneath it -- if it is a butterfly keyboard, then there is a slightly raised bump which is the key switch).

If the built-in keyboard does not work, but the external keyboard does work, then the built-in keyboard will need to be replaced. Have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop to provide you with a repair estiamte.
