VPN Client certificate import

Dear community,

I'm connecting a Mac to an azure file share using a VPN connection. To do this I need to be able to import a client certificate. The client certificate was generated from a root certificate using a Windows machine and the certificate is working perfect on Win 10 and 11 clients. When I try to import the certificate on my Macbook I'm getting an "Sorry you entered an invalid password" message despite the fact the password is correct. I need the VPN connection to connect to a file share because the smb port is often closed by the firewall or ISP.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I searched through a lot of articles online but haven't found an answer that is helping. Any idea how to overcome this issue?
