No volume from Tv

I have cannot get sound after I purchase a movie from Apple TV…movie visuals are fine jst no sound…we have a 32inch Panasonic Tv we think we tried most of the quick fixes but no joy

sometimes if a person have an appletv which is set to surround sound in the appletv settings

but the person don't have surround speakers connected they will not get much audio because it would be playing out of speakers not connected, changing audio to stereo should resolve that issue
