Unplayed download podcasts disappearing

Ever since podcasts has updated to its new form, unplayed downloaded podcasts have been disappearing from my phone. I download 1 or 2 of each show because there are cell service gaps on my commute. I have 20gb free on my phone, so space is not an issue. I don’t have automatic downloads on or automatic deletion. It tends to be the same shows over and over again. Mostly iHeart radio, but some others too. They randomly disappear and I only find out when either the show has to download as I’m playing or if I go delete a played show, and a series is deleted. It’s not just an episode here or there. It’s every episode of that show. It’s becoming more frequent.
