Will Erase Content & Settings delete a Volume I created?

If I created a volume on my m1 macbook air (Monterey), and use Erase content & settings will it delete the volume I created and it's contents?

I updated iOS and my volume was deleted I started the update process on my macbook pro last night. This morning I turned on my mac and the volume that I created (an APFS case-sensitive volume) was gone. It was not just un mounted. It was completely gone. Is there any way to retrieve this?

If this is on your internal drive read this.Add, delete, or erase APFS volumes in Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support

Yes. In fact Step# 1 in this Apple article explicitly states that the Windows BootCamp partition needs to be removed before the "Erase All Content and Settings" will even work. The whole purpose is to make it easier to prepare the Mac for sale which means making sure all your personal data is destroyed.
