Option to’lock’ app icons on screen for those who have dexterity issues

My iPhone is an essential part of my life. I am disabled and I appreciate the options in the accessibility section of the menu that enable me to get the best from my iPhone.

However because I have dexterity issues and a tremor I often trigger the icons on the screen to ‘wobble’ and make them available for deleting.

Is there a way of bypassing this and effectively locking the icons in place? If not could this option be made available on a future iOS update please.?

Hello, cpchris.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Adjusting the Haptic Touch settings may help: Change 3D or Haptic Touch sensitivity on your iPhone

"You can change the amount of pressure you need to activate 3D Touch or the speed of Haptic Touch on your device.

How to turn on 3D or Haptic Touch

  1. Open Settings and tap Accessibility.
  2. Tap Touch.
  3. Tap 3D & Haptic Touch. Depending on the device you have, only the 3D Touch or the Haptic Touch option might appear. For 3D Touch, turn on the feature, then use the slider to select a sensitivity level. For Haptic Touch, choose a touch duration speed, then tap the image to test your setting."

Another alternative, is you can set Screen Time with restrictions to turn off the ability to delete apps: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

"Prevent iTunes & App Store purchases

You can also prevent your child from being able to install or delete apps, make in-app purchases, and more. To prevent iTunes & App Store purchases or downloads".
