CH9102 Driver support

MacOS Big Sur (and maybe earlier) started to natively support the SI Labs CP210x UART controller.

Many Chinese manufacturers have started to replace the CP210x chips with the cheaper CH9102, which has the same footprint otherwise seems to be pin-compatible with the CP210x.

Would Apple please consider supporting the CH9102 in their UART drivers? The current third-party driver may be of questionable origin, and some of us don't want to install third party drivers into kernel space, especially if they are provided from potentially unreputable sources.

You're not talking directly to Apple representatives here. We are just fellow Apple-product users. As such, there is nothing we can do to assist you with this.

I suggest that you submit your suggestion directly to Apple here: Product Feedback - Apple
