USB drive issue - macOS Monterey would like to erase with no need to preserve data
A multiple file copy process stopped on a password encrypted sandisk cruzer 64GB drive.
disk is mountable / password accepted / drive active but not usable. (see below)
Stuck in a loop. Would prefer to erase with no need to preserve data
Have tried Disk Utility "erase" - ""failed" "A writable disk is required" (-69772)
Have tried First Aid - "...one or more volumes are locked (-69502) and Problems with partition map....:" (-69842)
Messages Received:
"You can finish copying now or keep a resumable copy and finish later."
1 - Finish Copying
2 - Keep Resumable Copy
Option 1 - Finish Copying "A folder already exists in this location. Do you want to merge or replace it with the one you’re copying?"
2 choices: Merge / Replace
Merge - "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0)."
Replace - "The operation can’t be completed because some items had to be skipped. For each item, choose File > Get Info, make sure “Locked” is deselected, and then check the Sharing & Permissions section. When you are sure the items are unlocked and not designated as Read Only or No Access, try again.
