arrow keys, acts like TAB

My arrow keys on both the Macbook and on the Apple usb-keyboard are not working as expected:

right arrow acts like the TAB - key, and left arrow acts like the Option TAB-key. (They actually register as such when typing on a shortcut editor).

I have tried resetting the VRAM and SMC.

Hi henrikskram,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you are having issues with your arrow keys functioning as tab keys on multiple keyboards.

Great troubleshooting so far. Now that the issue is isolated to the MacBook itself, try testing in another user account to see what happens there. If needed, you can set up a test user with the guidance from Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac.

If the issue only occurs in your user account, it is likely caused by user specific settings such as login items. Have a look at Remove login items to resolve startup problems on your Mac.

Take care.
