I have a new MacBook Air (3 months old) and it constantly tells me I have not backed up for xxxxx days (well, since I got it). As far as I can see it should be. Checked via Apple Menu>System Preferences>AppleID and all the boxes are ticked. So what have I done (or not done) that's wrong?
Do you have TimeMachine setup for an external local disk? That's generally how Macs are backed up. iCloud is an interactive service, not a long term storage or backup solution.
Thanks for the reply. Well, I have my iMac backed up to TimeMachine and assumed, because the Mac and the MacBook are synced, that I wouldn't need to back up the MacBook. Am I correct or do I need to back up both separately? If, because they are synced, I don't need to back up the MacBook, can I stop it telling me constantly that I haven't backed it up?
