MacBook is not backing up to iCloud
On the MacBook: System Pref -> iCloud -> Manage -> Manage Storage -> BackUp

iCloud doesn't backup Macs, only iOS devices (iPhone and iPad). To backup your MacBook: use TimeMachine (already on your Mac) and an external drive.
