iPad Pro screen issue (dim in over half the display)

Hello, I have an iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (3rd generation) and over the past couple month, I’ve started to notice an issue with the display on my iPad where about half the screen is dim and only the button part of the display is fully lite up and the sides of the iPad being the darkest along with the display having a slight tint to it.

Is this a common issue that can happen with the 2019 iPad Pro 12.9” model? And since the iPad is out of warranty I’m guessing for Apple to fix the issue would be a out of pocket expense?

Some more info on the iPad:

  • I’m from/in Australia (Same with where the iPad was purchased)
  • I’ve owned the iPad since 2019
  • I Pretty much have the iPad attached to the Apple Magic Keyboard 24/7 since July 15, 2020
  • iPad normally at 100% brightness
  • No True Tone or Night Shift turned on
  • The iPad is not covered under warranty or Apple Care+
  • I had not taken the iPad into Apple yet to get the iPad looked at
  • I have have tried a factory reset / re-install of the iPad OS and this DID NOT fix the issue

Have anyone has a similar issue to this And might know of any suggestions to fix the issue or might I have to get the display replaced by Apple?

Here are some photos of the issue:

Hello SpiralProduction,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! We see you have a concern about the display on your iPad Pro, and we'd like to do what we can to help.

You've done some great troubleshooting so far, by eliminating software as the issue with a restore of the iPadOS.

Next, you'll want to have a technician take a look at it, as it's likely a hardware issue.

iPad Service and Repair

An Apple Store Genius Bar technician will diagnose for no charge, and advise of the repair cost. You can then decide if you want to have it serviced.

Apple Authorized Service Providers set their own prices, so you'll want to ask for the charges in advance.

Take care!
