Transfer of all info to my new iPad
Once the transfer to my new iPad is complete, is the old iPad still functional?

Yes, using Quick Start all things are copied&pasted to the new device (but they remain on the old iPad).
After checking that the procedure was successful, and you want to wipe the old device, follow these instructions:--> What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
