iPhone calendar stopped syncing

iPhone calendar stopped syncing.


App keeps saying I need to sign in with my Yahoo pswd as usual. Which I do, and then get an error message that pswd is incorrect. EXCEPT Apple is perfectly happy when the exact same pswd is used on the exact same acct when using the Apple mail app to retrieve my Yahoo email.


Shockingly this is not a Yahoo issue as I have spoken with other people who have Outlook and Gmail accounts and are experiencing the exact same issue.


Have already tried changing pswd, hard restarting phone, checking and unchecking various calendar configurations as many “try this” articles have suggested.

From your post we understand that you're unable to sign in to the Yahoo Mail app, but the Apple Mail app is working as expected. Let's see how we can help. Do you happen to have two-step verification enabled with Yahoo Mail? If you're unsure, here's more information: Add two-step verification for extra security. If it's not enabled the best step would be to reach out to Yahoo Support for additional guidance.

I appreciate you trying to help, but I’m not sure why you keep trying to deflect this back to Yahoo (and presumably Outlook and Gmail).


It is not “happening with the Yahoo Mail App and not with the Apple Mail app”. I can access mail through either of those apps just fine.


The issue is ONLY with Apple’s Calendar App and since Apple’s Calendar App keeps erroring out that my password and email don’t match my calendar will not sync.


Meanwhile, APPLE’s Mail App is perfectly happy with my password and email and as you inquired earlier, I do utilize two step authentication.


Because in one of my attempts to solve this problem I changed my Yahoo password- I had to re-sign into my APPLE Mail app utilizing the new password and two step authentication. Which worked perfectly fine for Mail.


However, the APPLE CALENDAR app continues to error out.



Others have suggested deleting and reinstalling either/both APPLEs Calendar app or my Mail account - but since my calendar is not backed up anywhere (since it won’t sync…), if I do that I will lose all calendar entries that were made since this issue started.


And for the record, I previously did go to Yahoo too. Guess what? Since the problem ONLY happens in APPLE’s Calendar App they directed me to Apple.
