iPhone not respond to any swiping including restart

My phone was working fine (iphone 11). Next time it took it out it would not swipe at all- left, right, up, down. I cannot restart as I cannot swipe to restart. ???

I took off the screen protector and still not working,.

Press the volume up button and release then immediately press the volume down button and release then immediately press the side button and hold it until you see the Apple logo then let the side button go.


Emphasis on immediately is intentional.
