Update problem

In the middle of updating my Mac it got to a point where it asked for me to input my Apple ID. It was a full screen thing with no way to close the page and the keyboard froze. I closed the lid to turn it off, twice, but it came back the same way. Help!!!

Mac OS Update Assistant In a move to keep my Mac updated, I clicked on update Mac OS. Now my Mac is frozen in an update loop, where the blue scroll is not moving( like the picture in a previous email with the same issue).
