I am trying to restore my older ipad, but doing it with ITunes, the error meesage consistently comes back with "ipad cannot be restored." have tried all itunes options. any other ways to reset it? Thanks!

Hi Emery, yea that is a tough spot. Just my opinion, give it a modest effort using the Apple Support doc. If that doesn't get it going, it probably will be too much effort and chances are not good it'll work.
If finances are tight, keep an eye on the Apple Refurbished store. You can see iPads as low as around 300 (and It comes with that solid warranty). I've also seen the 7th gen iPad near $200 at. retail outlets.
