IPHONE NO LONGER CREATE PICTURE FOLDERS BY DATE WHEN COPIED TO WIN 10 PC

iPhone is not createing new, dated folders, when pictures are copied over to the usual Windows 10 PC, "Pictures" folder.

Prior to this issue, a new folder with the relevant date that the photos were taken, would be created automatically, in the Pictures folder.

Now, every new photo/s is/are copied only into the "Pictures" folder, no dated sub folders created as before.

is this a a bug?

This link contains the only supported ways of copying photos from an iOS device to a computer—>Transfer photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or PC - Apple Support. You are apparently using an unsupported method, which won’t work reliably.

If it is a bug, it would be on the Windows side of things. When you import photos to Windows, it is supposed to be done via the Photos app in Windows. You mention copy, so it sounds like you are actually opening the iPhone in Explorer and are trying to paste the photos onto the drive on the computer in the Pictures folder, is that correct? That is not the recommended method to get the photos off the iPhone to Windows. As a matter of fact, I'm surprised it is working for you at all. Changes made to Microsoft Windows has prevented that from happening over the last year or so. And if you are trying to "move" the photos from the phone so it deletes from the phone when you move them over to the computer, it can have a negative effect on the file system of the iPhone for photos. If you move them to Photos as recommended, they will be moved and filed by date.
