contacts on iPhone not found on Macbook

For the most part all my contacts match between my iPhone and my new Macbook Air but there are several contacts that are missing on the MacBook that are on the phone I cannot figure out why it does not match. Additionally I have duplicates contacts on my MacBook where there is only a single instance on my iPhone.

There are several ways to sync or share Contacts between macOS and iDevice's iOS.

Perhaps using iCloud settings between them? Some may not prefer this idea, since

it uses iCloud capacity, at a nominal cost.

..on all your devices; through iCloud..

For some other useful features to be shared across

Apple devices and products, there is 'Continuity'.
