iPhone 13 Pro bluetooth get garbled for a few seconds on a phone call

When I am on bluetooth (Airpods Pro, Plantronics 5200, etc.), occasionally the audio gets really garbled like the other person is under water or something then after about 5 seconds it clears up. This only happens on phone calls but I do notice that music sometimes will stop and restart. I use my phone for work and this is extremely frustrating as I essentially lose connection for about 5 seconds.

I have chatted with Apple support and they had me update to the latest firmware (15.3.1) and that did not fix it. I have restarted my phone dozens of times and repaired my Bluetooth devices.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
