iOS 15 streaming issues: streaming stops after less than 0.5 seconds

I started having streaming issues with iOS 15 somewhere around December and I suspect it might be either an operating system or an hardware issue. I'm using iPhone 13 Pro with iOS 15.3.1 (this issue appeared in previous 15.x versions).


The problem is that the phone sometimes goes into a state where it instantly stops playing an audio or a video stream once the playback is started. This applies to all of the apps I can think of (for example, but not limited to, YouTube, TikTok, Spotify, Apple Music). Also, videos and audio cannot be played from Safari.


The only working workaround solution I have found is that when I reboot the phone, everything starts working normally.


The bug is happening on both Wi-Fi and cellular data. I'm not using any kind of VPNs or other networking/security apps - at least any I'm aware of. I don't have any Safari content blockers set up (note that the problem is system-wide).


Any ideas how to fix this?

You've done a ton of really great isolating and troubleshooting steps here. We want to help you ensure that you're able to count on audio and video playback to work seamlessly. To clarify, are you noticing that the playback itself stops or is playback continuing but the audio itself cuts out entirely? If it's the latter, have you checked to see if you have any sort of headphones or Bluetooth speakers connected which could be causing that to occur? It may be possible that the device is automatically connecting to your Bluetooth device which could sound like an issue with audio at first glance.

I have this problem too. When I am streaming (in my case live radio), when the phone goes to sleep or I navigate away from the streaming app, the streaming stops. I do not close the app, and until today, I could stream the radio under these circumstances (phone asleep or using another app).


In my case, the streaming is audio only -- and it stops. It starts again immediately if I wake the phone or go back to the app. This problem is new for me. I recently upgraded to 15.3.1.
