Is there a way to add text to photos in Photos?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 12.0

You can embed the text into the photo. Double click on the photo to enlarge it to Edit view. Click on Edit. Click on the little circle with 3 dots in it in the tool bar at the upper right of the screen. From the drop down menu that appears, click on Markup. In the tool bar from the screen that appears, click on the Text button in the upper left (the box with the large T in it). A text box will appear in the photo. Type in your text and save your changes.
