what is watchdogd

Computer restarted, error is listed as panicked task: watchdogd.

What is this? I searched computer files, cannot locate anything named this.

If I haven't used my desktop computer for more than a day, the mouse drags and the execution times are very slow so I usually have to restart anyway.

iMac 27″, macOS 12.1

Thank you. Based on that info, it seems like a relatively helpful program. Not sure how it got on my MAC tho.
