I repeatedly tried to purchase on Apple TV, but it indicated "Unable to connect to Apple ID server". I signed off, and now the same happens as i tried to sign on again. I have no trouble accessing Apple TV through my MacBook, so it is not PW issue. Reset is a pain, but will do it if needed. But there must be some other options?

To help clarify, I can access my previous purchases from Apple, but the verification process to purchase new content keeps failing. That’s my issue. I have tried my original Apple ID and my second one. Neither work. Also note I am working off a VPN and have the Apple TV 4th generation.
Thanks Less. Not sure what “not supported” means. VPN is a common method for accessing Wi-Fi and maintaining privacy. This configuration works fine off my Mac, just not my Apple TV.
So I continue to pursue the core question with whomever has insight: why am I unable to get an Apple ID verification for new purchases even though i was able to do so in the past. Unclear to me what has changed.

No that’s not my issue. My issue is Apple TV won’t verify my ID and Pw. Repeatedly. I have tried both. Neither work. Error message is Cannot verify with Apple ID server.
