Not sure what the "coreaudio" issue is, I have not heard of this, but... you probably know that there were two versions of the OS since Catalina - Big Sur in 2020 and Monterey in 2021. The current OS is Monterey 12.2.1.
That is to say that except for any security updates (and there have been a few) Catalina is no longer updated.

Is this related to No Sound when new e-mail is received ?
Have experienced this in the past on various older version of macOS including Catalina.
That issue seems to have been resolved in Newer Versions of macOS like those suggested by previous posting.
Worth considering the move up to something newer if the computer Qualifies.
I'm experiencing more frequent coreaudio events recently. Also, they've been more disruptive. Apps are locking up when I nuke coreaudio in Activity Monitor. Most recent problem Apps have been Opera running NetFlix, GuitarPro 7.6 and Zoom. My wife teaches Yoga via Zoom and today had to interrupt the class to troubleshoot her voice being received garbled by all the students.
I nuked coreaudio, Zoom locked up, Force Quit Zoom then restart the session. All was well the remainder of the session. It's very unlikely, however, she'll know what to do if I'm not around to fix it.
I'm not ready to upgrade the OS yet. What's the actual issue with this thing?
