Wireless CarPlay, Lossless, Spacial Audio

I am really enjoying spacial audio (Dolby Atmos) with Apple Music. Especially in lossless from my supported soundbar.

in my car i think I am getting lossless but o would like to get verification.

I did some testing today and disabled Bluetooth and my Apple Music continued to play. Then I disabled wifi and it kept playing. Then I disabled cellular and the music played on.

I infer that the audio signal does not require Bluetooth and I suspect if my drive were longer the music would have run out.

can anyone explain how the signal is traveling from my phone to CarPlay and if the higher resolution signals are in fact being received and played?

As explained the article provided, the only option for lossless audio with CarPlay is to use a USB cable.

Bluetooth connections do not support lossless, the data is more than what Bluetooth is capable of handling. You can play lossless audio with CarPlay via the USB cable if your stereo supports this. Here's a resource that explains a lot more about lossless audio:

The vast majority of CarPlay systems are wired, meaning that once you plug your iPhone into the USB cable to charge, that same cable is used to send data to the CarPlay stereo. There are a some stereos that are wireless, and they use different methods of transmitting data, however both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi need to be enabled. Regardless, lossless audio is not supposed via a wireless connection with CarPlay.
