2019 16" MacBook Pro running slow after upgrading to Monterey

My wife's 2019 16" MacBook Pro running slow after upgrading to Monterey. I have the same computer and mine works fine. I've heard there are issues with some SSD's that were used in some MBP's when running Monterey. What solutions have any of you used to fix this? It worked fine before installing Monterey.

Did you try this:

I think best thing to do if booting to Recovery and repairing/First AId does not find unrepairable problems is to reinstall 12.2.1 but this time you erase the startup drive, reinstall maOS and then restore only your user (this includes data), reinstall any needed apps. Do not restore system setting or apps since those may be causing your problem.

If yes and still problems the to make a reservation At Genius Bar see:

Download and run this app so we can find more information about your installation.

https://etrecheck.com/upgrade

It shows what is launched and other information and is very useful in finding causes of problems. After you first launch the app make sure you check Enable full disk access in the box in lower left.

After running the app use the app's feature to paste to clipboard. Then paste it in the text box for a reply in this forum click on the addition text icon. This is because the normal reply text box limits how much you can type.

No personal identifiable information is contained if the app output. The app was written for a person who is contributor to these Apple Support Communities

Make one, preferably two, good backups of the computer. Then disconnect all peripherals. Is the computer still slow?

Then, try booting her computer into safe mode (holding shift key while booting, it make take a while so be patient). Then restart normally and test. If still slow, boot into recovery (COMMAND-R while booting) and run Disk Utility to check the file system. Reboot again normally and test.

If still not normal, try downloading and running DriveDX which checks the health of the drive hardware.

If ok, you can boot into recovery and reinstall the MacOS. Don't erase, the drive, just go with the option to reinstall the MacOS.

If still running slow, it might be something that was installed: I suggest downloading and running Etrecheck, post the output here using the button below for Additional Text that looks like a piece of paper. Someone may see something installed that is known to slow down Macs or are incompatible with Monterey. Common "culprits" include anti-virus, security software, "cleaner" programs and the like.

Did you run the long hardware test in DriveDx? It can take an hour or more.

Those errors are concerning, they may indicate a problem with the hardware. It might be time to take the computer to an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Let's see if lllaass or someone else has a better suggestion.

Action: I would would uninstall this Samsung app.. It is unnecessary and can cause problems with using the Samsung drive.

Finding: Clean up:
