Problem with payment for icloud

Hi,

in India since a couple of months back, in compliance of the Reserve Bank of India guidelines, all automated recurring card payments were stopped. I believe as a result the iCloud subscription would have to be availed of monthly manually!

consequently, yesterday I added funds to my Apple ID so that I can pay for iCloud subscription of INR 219 (per month) from Apple ID balance. For starters I added INR 500 to my Apple ID. When I reached the page for payment for iCloud subscription, I am not able to pay from Apple ID balance!? The option of pay is not coming when I click Apple ID as mode of payment.

is there some mandatory minimum balance I need to put in Apple ID for to pay?

Pls help!!

iPhone 12, iOS 15

Welcome Tahens3,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, you can't use your Apple balance to pay for your iCloud subscription.

When you have available Apple ID balance, when the time comes to pay for your iCloud subscription, it should use the Apple ID balance to pay for the subscription; then charge any other cards on the account. As mentioned here: About billing of subscriptions in India

If you're having issues making the payment with your Apple ID balance, then it would be best to connect with Apple Support: Get Support

Wishing you well, take care.
