The laptop has frozen . I cannot close the page. The red and green have black cross in them and the red will not close the page. I cannot drag the photos to the trash bin. All the settings, Safari, launchpad will not function etc. the apple is not visible to select. Can you help please Thanks

You can always force quit a shutdown by holding the power button/TouchID for ~6-10 sec.
Force Shut down your Mac.
Log out, sleep, wake, restart or shut down your Mac

Reboot as normal and test.

I have the same problem with a photo that was airdropped to my MacBook. I did shutdown my system, opened it the next day and the photo opened back up, still spinning. I also tried "Esc" the "close" button does not work either.
