Searching Apple mail, What changes to the parameters or preferences needs to be made to get a comprehensive search. Where are the preferences stated. Standard search is unable to find anything in mail received even a even few days ago

You will have to experiment with the searches. Not sure what parameters it will accept.
Thanks for the mail. I am not sure what parameters to apply. I usually search by the name of sender, but this is not a comprehensive search. It misses even yesterdays mail. Is the use of asterisks permitted? Are periods (from and to) recognised?
If you put the name or parameters in the search box it should search all mailboxes for that specified. I found I have to tweak the parameter sometimes to find what I want.
