Numbers in iCloud will not allow me Edit chart data

I am trying to add data to a chart in numbers and the "Edit Data References" button does not pop up when I click on the chart. I just recently started using charts in iCloud as I am no longer allowed to use the desktop version because I can't update my operating system.

Numbers Chart - can't get out of "Edit Data References" I've got an X-Y Scatter graph in Numbers. I'd like to edit the data - and although I am able to edit the data to my liking I find I CAN'T EXIT the Edit Data References mode. I tried the escape key - that doesn't exit out of this mode. I tried randomly clicking other things - didn't work. The only way I know how to get out of Edit Data References mode is to quit Numbers and restart. Anyone else have this issue? Is there a way to exit out of Edit Data References when modifying data of a chart?

Why is Numbers bar chart wrong? Why is Numbers not able to create the most simplistic of charts from the data fields? I have attached a screenshot of what I have created, but I can't understand why a total of 3 shows past the '3 line' and the total 1 doesn't even reach the '1 line'. Shouldn't they all display like the '5 line'? Am I missing something, or is Numbers just that bad?
