When I ask Siri to call a person from my contacts, rather than saying "Calling Mary Jones"; she is saying the phone number related to the contact (I think) but I can't verify if it is correct cause I do not have my contacts numbers memorized. I just want her to call Mary. What do I do? I have iOS 15.3.1. Seems like this started about 2 updates ago.

Had same problem. Siri used to say the name, then suddenly started only saying the phone number. Noted the number was a business, so checked my contacts and discovered the first and last names were blank, and only company field was filled in. Added company name to first name (and/or last name) field and Siri started saying the name again. If I made the first and last name fields blank again, Siri reverted back to saying the number when she called. Must be result of an update. I know there was one a while ago that allowed Siri to work completely off you phone vs using the internet and utilizing a server for voice recognition. Probably changed then🙄.

If Siri tells you the number, rename that number to the related person.
On your iPhone, open the Phone App > Contacts > Edit
Now rename the contact, and Siri should now say the Name.
So I’m probably sounding not too bright here but the contact is already named. I’m just going to go back in & rename it the same name again?? The number is already attached to that name, plus this is happening randomly not to the same contact every time. I will do what you said if I can remember which one it blew up on last time just seems odd. Thanks!
