In all honesty yours is the first report I have heard on the M1 keyboard...
The 2016-2019 butterfly keyboards were the real issue... a plenty
Late 2019 16" introduced the new 'magic " keyboard ( the old scissors mechanism w/ improvements)
here I can actually type faster(!) and love it.
