Audio gain and dynamic compression while recording video (and live stream)

Hello,

is it possible to control audio gain and even use a live dynamic compression effect on audio recorded with a video on the iPhone?

What about having such controls over video used in live streaming?

An example for such a situation would be live video broadcast on Facebook of a Theater improvisation show - with only the handheld iPhone via wifi. From bad experience, such settings produce a very wide dynamic range - between silent moments and moments of loudness that result in clipping.
