How do I find the old pull down menu that had a dictionary/thesaurus, spacing, paragraph marks from the earlier Word version? On the new MAC, cannot find all those editing tools.

TextEdit is not Microsoft Word. They are completely different -- TextEdit is an Apple application and is a very basic word processor. Apple also has the free Pages app that is more powerfull.
Microsoft does not provide free software with new Macs (or free upgrades between major versions of their Office products unless you subscribe to Microsoft 365).

The new Mac takes me into Text Edit with Word. Where is the tool bar? How can I view spaces between words, paragraph indents, dictionaryetc.?
