2016 15" Macbook Pro isn't sleeping, Wake reason: EC.DarkPME (Maintenance)

Hi there

I have noticed my 2016 15" MBP running masOS 12.2.1 runs very warm when the lid is closed. It hasn't happened before.

After a bit of googling, I ran this command "log show | grep 'Wake reason' | grep '2022-02'" to show the wake reasons, which are:

Does any know what is EC.DarkPME (Maintenance)? It seems to run few times a minute. And anyone know how to fix this issue?

Any help is appreciated.

First try booting to Safe Mode. That boot up takes minutes and clears caches and other things that may resolve your problem.

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

A lot of times just boot to Safe Mode followed by normal boot resolves problems.

If sti problem download and run this app so we can find more information about your installation.

https://etrecheck.com/upgrade

It shows what is launched and other information and is very useful in finding causes of problems. After you first launch the app make sure you check Enable full disk access in the box in lower left.

After running the app use the app's feature to paste to clipboard. Then paste it in the text box for a reply in this forum click on the addition text icon. This is because the normal reply text box limits how much you can type.

Thanks for your help so far!

I booted into safe mode. The same logs re Wake reason: EC.DarkPME (Maintenance) appeared in safe mode and logged in after safe mode.

I was trying to connect the Nintendo Switch Pro controller as well. But now I have removed it from the bluetooth devices list as well as the Sony headphone. Issue persists.

See attached report.

Silverlight & nosleep - removed

Logitech mouse -  Looks like Logitech gaming software is old, removed. Now using Logitech G Hub.

G13Joystick -  Not 100% what's this, maybe a very cheap gaming joystick. Haven't used for ages. Deleted the one of the .kext files. The other .kext unable to delete.

Paragon NTFS - had uninstalled the app ages ago. Deleted all related files.

Tunnel Bear - uninstalled long time ago. Deleted the remaining files.

CleverFiles - deleted

I'll see if this changes anything.
