Older HP Printer drivers

Hi,

Are you using macOS 10.13 High Sierra (this area of the community), or possibly another operating system version?

There is an HP 5.1.1 Printer Software Update download from Apple. It should be noted that the System Requirements for this HP 5.1.1 Printer Software Update say macOS 10.14, but it could perhaps be worth a try with macOS 10.13 High Sierra anyway. It may or may not work/install. Something like the HP LaserJet 4050 Series driver (version 19.13 in Printer and scanner drivers for Mac - Apple Support)? Look upon this as an experiment. Make sure that you have backup copies of all important files (documents, photos, et cetera) before testing anything.

The older drivers for 10.4 & 10.5 aren't likely to work on any newer OS.

Install the Generic PCL or Generic Postscript drivers...
