External CD drive for MacBook Pro M1 2021 (Model A2442)

I just upgraded to the new MacBook M1 2021 and I need to import tons of music from old CDs onto it. I already know from previous answers that the Apple SuperDrive isn't compatible with the new M1 2021. Can anyone point to a specific non-Apple brand that I should purchase? Please include the model number. Thanks!

Remaking my music library Over the 25+ years I've ripped my music CDs to my media library, iTunes has corrupted the mp3 files, and bit rot has damaged the directories. I get far too many 'can't find this song' and other error messages. I have all the physical CDs. I want to copy them (not rip to another format) to a hard drive. I want bit-for-bit copies of the CD TIFF files. When that's done, I'll import them all to a new media library and carry on, locking the TIFF HD as a read-only archive in a RAID array. I'd like an app that would let me drag a CD to the hard drive, creating a folder titled according to the CD title, containing the (titled) TIFF tracks. Basically, a HD copy of the physical CD. What app is best for copying my CDs to a hard drive? Mac OS 12.6.3 with all updates, Intel (Mini 2018) or M2 MacBook Air with external LG CD/DVD drive. I'm so looking forward to reincarnating my music. Thanks for your help.

Import a CD to Music App using Big Sur 11.6 Hi, I have a new 2020 MacBook Air. I'm trying to import a CD into the Music library using an external drive. I've searched the Community and can't find any answers that match my experience. There is no import CD option in the Music App or any pop up There are no options under preferences/general/files/import settings that mention CD import other than the "use error correction when reading audio CDs" tickbox which has no impact. I bought my MB AIR last January (M1), and it works just fine with my old SuperDrive. All I needed was a $5 USB C to USB A adapter.

And by 'old', I mean around 10 years old.
