replace hdd on 2016 MacBook Pro

My 2016 MacBook Pro is becoming full, and I am thinking o replacing the hard disk with a bigger one and restoring from TimeMachine. The processor is good enough for the purpose.

I am aware of void warranty and everything.

Now my concerns

i) how to create a boot disk for Monterey?

ii) do I need to consider any form disk dependency when it comes to keys?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.2

ii) what do you mean any form of disk dependency?

Not sure if this particular model has an upgradable storage. If it does then you will need a certain disks to consider - https://support.apple.com/specs/macnotebooks find your model specs here, and if the storage says upgradable then you can easily upgrade it in Apple Repair center. If it says configurable storage, then it's not upgradable by apple's recommendation and use only the type and size that is listed for your model. There are 3 MacBook PROs from 2016.
